"So the Lord God took the man and settled him in the
Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it."
Genesis 2:15
Bring Back Eden champions the revival of our primal connection to the earth through edible landscaping and Florida Food Forests. In an industry grossing billions annually, yet often contributing to food deserts and environmental decline, we offer a transformative and regenerative alternative that heals the mind, body, and soul.
Florida is literally the Garden of Eden... There isn't much we can't grow in this subtropical climate that won't heal us body, body, and soul. As a new husband, father to two teenage boys, a pup named Roxy and armed with a permaculture design degree in 2021, my wife Hya and I decided to move from Los Angeles to Bradenton, Florida in hopes to reconnect with nature, grow our own food forest and cultivate land worth calling home. God answered our prayers.
Our mission addresses the critical issues of underutilized land, the dangers of pesticides and fertilizers, and the disconnect from our food sources as we collectively have outsourced our health and connection to the earth. We believe in the beauty and functionality of edible Florida food forest landscapes, where every yard- like our Bradenton Food Forest- has the potential to be a source of nourishment and healing. We also see a lack of purpose and faith in today's man, disconnect within communities, and within our own families. That's why we focus on honoring God through out stewardship of not only the land but of the men that work along side us.
Inspired by the principles of permaculture, we see getting our hands in the soil and growing food not just as sustenance, but as medicine, integral to our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Drawing from Genesis, we remind ourselves of humanity's original purpose in the garden - to tend, nurture, and enjoy the beautiful bounty and flavors of the earth that man can only dream of recreating. Coconuts, guavas, bananas, passion fruit, loquats, Panama berries, black and mamey sapote, sapodia, jackfruit, papaya, moringa, soursop, star apple, dragon fruit, mangos and avocado, to name a few.
Join us in reclaiming this heritage, building soil, cultivating hopeful families, and fostering Florida communities rooted in faith, health, harmony, and abundance.
Blessings,
Matthew Nadu
